Your account

Open Settings from the account menu (your avatar, top right). It has two tabs.

Profile

• Picture: upload a PNG, JPEG or WebP up to 2 MB and 2000 pixels on a side. Replacing it deletes the old file; Remove goes back to your initials.
• Display name, username and bio: the username is used in @mentions and your links, and must be unique.
• Status: a short line under your name in the account menu, with an optional emoji. Say what you are up to in up to 80 characters, and choose when it clears: never, in an hour, at the end of today, or in seven days. Clear status removes it at once.
• How you appear in chat: under your name, or as "Anonymous". Anonymous hides your name from other viewers. Your messages are still recorded against your account, and the channel owner, its moderators and the server admin can see who is behind one (each lookup is logged).
• Password: enter the current one and a new one of at least eight characters.

Notifications

The bell shows when a channel you follow goes live, when someone mentions you and when someone replies to you. On this tab you choose, per channel, whether you get the bell and, if the server can send email, an email as well (at most one an hour per channel). Without an email server the email controls do not appear.

Signing out

Sign out in the account menu returns you to the home page.
